Cuisinart Oreo Ice Cream Recipe

Cuisinart Oreo Ice Cream Recipe (most requested one)

My Cuisinart Oreo Ice Cream Recipe makes creamy cookies and cream ice cream with milk, heavy cream, vanilla, and plenty of crushed Oreos. I use a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker for a soft-serve texture, then freeze it until firm. Prep takes 10 minutes, with 17–18 minutes of churn time. Easy, rich, and packed with Oreo flavor, this homemade Oreo ice cream makes about 5 cups.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • About 15 Oreo cookies crushed, plus a little extra for serving

Equipment

  • Cuisinart ice cream maker
  • Freezer bowl
  • Paddle
  • Ice cream maker cover
  • Medium mixing bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk or electric/hand-held mixer
  • Rubber spatula
  • Ziplock bag
  • Ice cream containers

Method

  1. Step 1 | Mix the Milk and Sugar: Add 1 cup of milk and ¾ cup of granulated sugar to a medium mixing bowl. Whisk until the sugar starts to dissolve into the milk.
  2. Step 2 | Dissolve the Sugar and Salt: Add a pinch of salt to the milk and sugar mixture. Continue mixing until the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.
  3. Step 3 | Add the Heavy Cream and Vanilla: Shake the heavy cream before measuring it, then add 2 cups to the mixing bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of vanilla and mix everything well until the ice cream base is evenly combined.
  4. Step 4 | Chill the Ice Cream Base: Cover the bowl and place the mixture in the refrigerator for 2 hours. Keeping the base chilled helps it start cold when it goes into the ice cream maker.
  5. Step 5 | Crush the Oreos: Place about 15 Oreos in a ziplock bag and crush them into small pieces. Leave a little aside for topping the finished ice cream.
  6. Step 6 | Assemble the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker: Remove the frozen freezer bowl from the freezer and assemble the Cuisinart ice cream maker with the bowl, paddle, and cover. Keep the frozen bowl cold until you are ready to churn.
  7. Step 7 | Start the Machine and Add the Base: Turn on the Cuisinart ice cream maker before pouring in the chilled mixture. With the machine running, pour the ice cream base into the freezer bowl.
  8. Step 8 | Churn for 15 Minutes: Let the ice cream churn for about 15 minutes. The mixture will gradually thicken and develop a creamy, soft-serve consistency.
  9. Step 9 | Add the Crushed Oreos: After 15 minutes of churning, add the crushed Oreos to the ice cream. Keep a small amount of the crushed cookies aside for serving.
  10. Step 10 | Churn for 2–3 More Minutes: Continue churning for another 2–3 minutes so the Oreo pieces spread through the ice cream. Stop the machine when the ice cream has a creamy, soft-serve texture.
  11. Step 11 | Remove the Paddle: Turn off the ice cream maker, remove the cover, and carefully lift out the paddle. Scrape any ice cream from the paddle back into the freezer bowl or container.
  12. Step 12 | Transfer the Ice Cream: Use a rubber spatula to transfer the ice cream into freezer-safe containers. Avoid using a metal utensil against the freezer bowl because it can scratch the surface. This recipe makes about 5 cups, enough to fill two pint containers with some extra for tasting.
  13. Step 13 | Freeze Until Firm: Place the containers in the freezer for 2–3 hours or overnight. The ice cream will become firmer and easier to scoop as it freezes.
  14. Step 14 | Serve With Extra Oreos: When ready to serve, scoop the ice cream into bowls and sprinkle the reserved crushed Oreos over the top.
